Interests:books (reading them and just plain looking at the pictures) anime, pop art, candles, cutting stuff out of magazines, coloring, shopping for clothes, being the best Chloe out there Expertise:calling your name in the rain Occupation:daydream believer Industry:ninjas
7:51 am- got everyone in the car and left for the naval air base 8:30-10 am- we stood outside near the runway and watched the blue angels practice. it's really cool, but it's also really loud. there was this one time this guy snuck up on us from behind. no one was paying attention and then BOOM. it's really loud, but it comes after the plane comes, so you see one go by and you have to brace yourself for the sound. after that was over, you could go meet the pilots in the museum. we had seen the museum a couple days ago, but we never got the upstairs. it looked like a bunch of stuff from the 40s and 50s, and there was a little grocery store with a bunch of elderly people talking about how life was then. we went over to where you could meet them, but it was really crowded so we went back upstairs and took creeper pictures. they were kinda cute :]
10-11 am- we went to bagelheads in pensacola for lunch. it was really yummy
11-1 pm- we walked around an art museum, which used to be a jail. they had a bunch of etches and old african tribal stuff. across the street was a museum all about florida, so we went over there. the first floor was about the first people who lived in pensacola, and the people who took it over. the second floor was rotating exhibits. there was one about women's swimsuits through history, and a bunch of local children's science fair projects were on display. it made me feel guilty for never putting any effort into mine. i had a nosebleed there, too. i get those a lot. the third floor was this place for kids. it looked like a little pilgrim town, with houses and a trading shop. I had a headache due to the nosebleed, so i sat with my dad where the adults sit. this little boy was walking around with a fake gun and pretended to shoot me. i teach 4 year old sunday school so i know it's polite to pretend to get hit. my dad was like, "watch out, she'll really bleed! wow, that would traumatize you for life..."
after that we stopped by the grocery store to pick up some stuff for dinner, then went home and slept. tonight we're having hamburgers, and since it's a charcoal grill, we convinced my dad to let us make s'mores. too bad we just realized we have nothing to cook them on haha
so mission trip was actually loads of fun. we slept on air mattresses on the floor in a church and showered at gym showers, and about half of us came home injured, but's it's all good. my group went to many (mini?) springs and helped turn a falling down building into an awesome new youth building. we scraped paint, painted a hallway and touched up the outside of the building, plus painted the doors and put them back on. we all went to sonic like, everyday, and I was on the sandwich crew, who made lunches for everybody working at all the different sights. on the last day, all the 9th, 10th and 11th graders went to the lake, which was probably my favorite thing, cause we all just sat on the shore and relaxed. on the last night, we all went to many springs to unveil the new youth building. their youth pastor (cause they were all native americans) gave our youth pastor a flute (cause he "didn't have time to make a peace pipe") and the lady at atwood a friendship necklace. they also sang some hymns in their language. they were all so grateful, it was such a good feeling :]
on tuesday I took my tests, the TSI to be able to start classes at quad-c, and the english CLEP so I don't have to take english one in college. it was kinda scary, but I did good and passed everything, except math, which isn't surprising.
and work isn't all that terrible. I bag groceries and take them out to people's car's. It wouldn't be so bad except it's about a thousand degrees outside. and people keep telling me, like I don't know or something?
I saw 500 days of summer on sunday, it was soooo adorable. and when he's walking down the street and he see's han solo, I could not stop laughing! and I finally saw wolverine origins on wednesday. ryan renolds is a beasttt :D
I've also been watching heroes on the roku box, which is like, the greatest invention ever
this past week was vbs. as usual (they always asign me this without asking) I taught first grade. we had a small class, with only 12 kids our highest day. all the kids were good, except this one girl who sometimes had a serious trouble sitting still. we had two sets of twins, two boys and then two girls, and even though I didn't already know any of the kids when it first started, we became very close. it's tiring, but it really is so much fun, and it's sad that it won't happen tomorrow, or next week, but it'll take a year. that's kind of why I want to be a teacher. you'd get to know the kids so well, and watch them grow and teach them stuff :]
tomorrow we leave for mission trip, 3 hours away in okalohoma. it's my first time going, so I'm nervous, but excited too. we're helping build a youth building, and teaching vbs. they aren't letting josh go, which cause some drama so i'm pretty stressed over everything. maybe it'll go well? maybe it won't. never a dull moment.
(I say rides in quotes cause some of them aren't really rides)
1. Astro Orbiter where: magic kingdom, tomorrowland what: it's basically the dumbo ride, but up super high, and with a space theme when: best at night, especially during Christmas. you can see everything <3
2. Carousel of Progress where: also magic kingdom, also tomorrowland what: a freaking old rotating show. walt made it for some world's fair way back when. it is what the name describes, a showcase for electricity and daily life throughout the lates 1800s early 1900s to what they thought the future would hold. it also has the world's catchiest song. when: if you've never seen it go soon. it's rarely open cause it doesn't attract a whole lot of people, but this also means there's never any line!
3. Test Track where: epcot, in the front what: it's like the tests they put cars through, except you're the crash-test dummy. when: you get what you get. normally the line is insanely long, so if you're walking by and the wait's like, 15 minutes, do it!
4. Dinosaur where: animal kingdom what: you go back in time to "save" a dinosaur, but the car you're in sucks and there's a meteor about to hit. when: doesn't matter
5. Impressions de France where: epcot, world showcase what: a video about France. very pretty. good music. the song the farmer sings to babe plays at the end, too. when: when you walk around world showcase and pass France.
Honorable Mention: The hugeeee store in the world showcase for Japan. it is seriously the funnest store ever. plus, the only place I've ever seen "men's" pocky for sale.
so being an adult is not as fun as they try to make it sound when you're a kid.
yesterday was my orientation for sacking groceries at market street. we watched videos about their store motto ("mission statement") and how scary unions are (and I would have not idea what unions were if it weren't for newsies) and they gave us a tour around the store and we got some t-shirts.
I manged to get a job at the worst time possible though... cause next week is VBS, and the day after that we leave for mission trip, and after we get back from that I have to take the THESA test and then the english CLEP, and then I have a couple weeks of doing nothing until I go to pensacola for a week, and the week after that is tech week for anything goes, and then we'll have shows every weekend.
so it's like I got job, but I can't work for two months :/
I was so stressed out last night I felt physically ill.
